Project Goal
This project’s goal was to design a set of playing cards that followed a certain theme. Different designs were created for the King, Queen, Jack, Ace, Joker and a pattern design for the back of the cards. The face cards also had to have an inverse design to go with them.
Design Solution
The final cards are a floral set with a lily, tulip, rose and daffodil as the face cards. These are meant to be pretty, delicate flowers with the thistle as the joker contrasting them. The inverse of each card shows the flower dying in order to create something different on the inverse while still following the same theme. The back of the card and the box is a tessellating floral pattern that ties into the theme of the deck.
