Project Goal
This project was created for a submission to the student RGD Awards, specifically the award for a packaging series. The goal for this package design was to create something that would stand out on a shelf against competitors as well as target a younger audience. It was also important to ensure that the package design met all the Canadian packaging requirements.
Product Creation
The package setup was designed to have a unique opening with a diagonal cut on the sides that reveals a tea leaf pattern. Tea packaging is currently quite simple and plain, so creating something more bold and colourful would bring something new to tea packaging while also targeting a younger demographic.
Design Solution
The final design consists of six different flavours of tea, each flavour being a different coloured box. Each box has the same diagonal cut and tea leaf pattern, but a different icon representing the flavour. The packaging is also sustainable with it being made of cardboard and printed with sustainable inks.
Branding
The logo for Bliss was designed to be simple and bold to go along with both the colour and theme of the packaging. The logo needed to stand out on the front of the package which is why the typeface "Quirk" was used for the word Bliss and it was modified to create a more decorative look. The tea leaf pattern was created to go on the sides of each tea box. This was added to have something else to make the packaging pop while still making sure it was clear that this was a tea brand.
